Types of General Conference Programs

  • 1 hour 50-minute Workshop Session
  • 50-minute Education Session
  • 50-minute Roundtable Session
  • 30-minute Poster Sessions

Session Descriptions  

  • Workshop Session: A workshop is a 1 hour and 50 minute presentation that may include more in-depth exploration of a topic, advanced training or information, experiential instructional components, panel discussion, or research symposia.
  • Education Session: An education session is a 50-minute presentation that may be conceptual, focused on training or practice, and/or include dissemination or research findings.
  • Roundtable Session: A roundtable session is a 50-minute discussion focused on topics of theory, practice, and/or research and facilitated by the presenter.
  • Poster Session: A poster session is a 30-minute presentation for presenters to display a poster illustrating their topic and discuss their topic with participants.

Program Proposal Requirements

  • Presenter(s) name and credentials
  • Presenter(s) phone and email
  • Type of program (Workshop, Education, Roundtable or Poster Session)
  • Title of Proposal
  • Program Description: Please include a rationale, program goals, instructional method, and how your program aligns with humanism (maximum of 1500 characters).
  • Learning Objectives: Please include at least three learning objectives (maximum of 500 characters).
  • Program Summary for Publication in Conference Program: Please include a brief summary for the conference program guidebook (maximum of 500 characters).
  • Keywords: Please include a maximum of three (3) key words.

Program Proposal Guidelines

    ·         Lead Presenter name and credentials
    ·         Lead Presenters phone and email
    ·         Name and credentials of additional presenters
    ·         Type of program (Workshop, Education session, Roundtable, or Poster session)
    ·         If your presentation is not accepted in the format you chose, are you willing to present in a different format based on reviewer feedback and committee discretion? (Yes or no)
    ·         Preferred Presentation day (Friday, Saturday, either) (We cannot guarantee specific preference, but will do our best to accommodate)
    ·         Title of Proposal
    ·         Program Description: Please include a rationale, program goals, instructional method, and how your program aligns with the conference theme (maximum of 1500 characters).
    ·         Learning Objectives: Please include at least three learning objectives (maximum of 500 characters).
    ·         Program Summary for Publication in Conference Program: Please include a brief summary for the conference program guidebook (maximum of 500 characters).
    ·         Keywords: Please include a maximum of three (3) key words.

      We recommend that presenters prepare program proposals in a word document, and use the grammar/spellcheck before copying and pasting into the online form. Please save and print a copy of your submission for your records. Only information listed above will be requested in the proposal submission portal.
